It is a day to proudly recognize the hard work of those working in the credit union industry and to how appreciation for credit union members. Credit unions continue to demonstrate their ability to improve the lives of individuals, families, communities and countries around the world.<\/p>\n<h3>Brining Credit Unions Together<\/h3>\n<p>Since 1948, International Credit Union Day has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October. This year\u2019s theme is \u201c<i>Credit Unions Unite for Good: A Better Way<\/i>.\u201d Each year, the international event gives the opportunity to remember credit unions\u2019 proud history and promote awareness of and support for the credit union initiative.<\/p>\n<h3>Not-for-profit Means You Profit<\/h3>\n<p>Credit Unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that aim to serve their members, providing a secure place to save money and access affordable loans. Credit unions all over the world are a united industry focused on you, the members.
