It is a day to proudly recognize the hard work of those working in the credit union industry and to how appreciation for credit union members. Credit unions continue to demonstrate their ability to improve the lives of individuals, families, communities and countries around the world.
Bringing Credit Unions Together
Since 1948, International Credit Union Day has been celebrated annually on the third Thursday of October. This year’s theme is “Credit Unions Unite for Good: A Better Way.” Each year, the international event gives the opportunity to remember credit unions’ proud history and promote awareness of and support for the credit union initiative.
Not-for-profit Means You Profit
Credit Unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that aim to serve their members, providing a secure place to save money and access affordable loans. Credit unions all over the world are a united industry focused on you, the members. That’s why, at a credit union, you are never just a number—you are a member, and they exist to serve you.
We’d like to invite you to join us in the celebration of International Credit Union Day. For more information on how you can become a member of VFCU, visit any of our locations or contact Valley Federal Credit Union’s main office in Brownsville at (956) 546-3108.
